The first visit will consist of an exam, followed by an x-ray or ultrasound if needed. In many cases, an initial treatment can be performed following this, but a full treatment plan will be developed after Dr. Hogue has time to review all of the results.

If you've visited Dr. Hogue since Dr. Garcia's retirement, you can schedule your follow-up appointment as usual. However, if this is your first time seeing Dr. Hogue since Salish Integrated Medical closed, we will need to arrange this as a new patient appointment. Should you want to transfer your medical records from Salish to Rogue Healthcare, we can do this once a Release of Records form is completed.

Manual therapy is an umbrella term that covers all types of physical treatments using the hands as a therapeutic tool. It includes things like chiropractic, massage, mobilizations and osteopathic manipulation.

At Rogue Healthcare, we use multiple types of manual therapy. Dr. Hogue uses a very gentle style of manual therapy called Fascial Counterstrain. This technique is a greatly expanded version of a classic osteopathic technique called Strain Counterstrain. The idea of the treatment is simple: put tight tissues into their most relaxed position, and hold it there for about 30 seconds. This allows the tight tissue to let go of it's tension. Though the concept is simple, the treatment is anything but. In order to figure out what needs to be treated in the body, I rely on diagnostic tender points. With over 1,000 tender points (and expanding), each with their own treatments, it can be a very involved process. It's a good thing Dr. Hogue is very practiced at it. Dr. Hogue also offers classic manipulations (similar to chiropractic) for those who just need a good crack.

Zach, our rehab tech, offers various forms of therapeutic massage.

Comfort during the treatments is important. Because of this, clothing should be comfortable and easy to move in. Thick and stiff clothing can interfere (to a small degree) with the treatments, and so it's best to avoid those types of clothing. Depending on the treatments being performed, there can be a wide range of positions that you will need to be placed in. Keep this in mind, and wear clothing that allows for a wide variety of movements while maintaining a level of modesty in which you are comfortable.

We Accept Regence, Regence Supplements, Premera and HMA.

Dr. Hogue would like to pretend that he has some awesome story about his roguish nature, bucking conventions and charting his own course.  However, the real reason is the similarity between Rogue and Hogue. He figured it would make it easier for patients to remember his name. Is it helping?
